DORTMUND, Germany: Violent fights broke out between Turkish and Georgian fans at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion before the start of European Championship (Euro 2024) match between the two teams on Tuesday.
The brawl occured in a corner of the stadium at ground level, with fans throwing punches and objects at each other as security guards tried to intervene in the pouring rain.
The fight ended when riot police intervened between them. A thick line of police officers remained at the scene, and some stood in the stairwell alongside Georgia fans.
