News of ADOR, the company that manages the well-known girl group NewJeans, suing Middle7, a YouTuber, surfaced in April. The organization was sued for defamation. The YouTuber uploaded a sarcastic apology video after the lawsuit and vanished from the site. Middle7 has reappeared and is making fun of HYBE in a new post.
Middle7 Returns with Another Mocking Posts
After making a comeback to YouTube, Middle7 posted on the community tab, referring to themselves as “lucky.” They gave an explanation for why they think HYBE might not be able to capture them.
“I only used the IP address of the ISP; it wasn’t intentional,” the individual stated in their post. I was not residing at my registered residence in October of last year, when HYBE sought the term for the IP address, according to the information provision order. I might escape detection if Google could assist a little more with the time.”
Mocking Continues
A photo of IVE‘s Wonyoung was also posted, along with the mocking comment, “Lucky Vicky.” This was perceived as just another attempt to make light of the issue and the ongoing court case.
Even someone like Sojang, who left footprints everywhere, was hard to track down by IP address, according to one commenter. To ultimately locate Sojang, several efforts were required. It would be much harder to find someone based just on an empty account and an ISP IP.
It was mentioned by another user that Google might not be willing to give the information over. Even then, it’s possible that the ISP’s IP retention will have expired, making it more difficult to track down Middle 7.
Meanwhile, ADOR has identified Middle 7 through legal action. They have requested a prohibition from a federal court in California compelling Google to reveal the identity of the person who created the Middle7 account.
As HYBE and ADOR get played fun of by Middle7, the situation keeps rising. It is unclear if the YouTuber will be captured and held accountable for their acts against NewJeans, given the ongoing legal proceedings.
