Man Arrested for four-wheeler theft and suspected of drug offenses

SINGAPORE – A 23-year-old man was taken into custody by police for allegedly stealing a car on June 12th. Also, he was arrested for a suspected offense related to drugs. Recently, a video was posted on social media i.e. Instagram which has gained more than 3,500 likes since June 11th.

The arrest video showcased that the two police officers were attempting to pull the man out of a dark-colored car before two more officers arrived to help them

A third police car entered the location, from which another pair of officers joined in to help arrest the man.

The police reported that while patrolling at Block 645 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 at 8.25 am on June 9, the officers noticed a car that their patrol car’s number plate recognition system flagged as stolen.

The man who was in the car allegedly attempted to run away by starting the car engine as officers approached the stolen car and also tried to resist arrest, the police added.

Subsequently, the man was arrested and charged on June 10 for theft of a four-wheeler vehicle. If he pleads guilty, he could face fines and a maximum jail sentence of up to seven years.
