On the occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim made a special address to wish the people the Malaysia. In his address, he emphasised the importance of unity as the cornerstone for Malaysia’s progress. He advocated the necessity of solidarity among Malaysians, irrespective of race or religion, to propel the nation towards loftier and more dignified achievements.

In his Hari Raya address, Anwar underlined that Malaysia should not marginalize or antagonize any segment of society, irrespective if it size or composition. He stressed on the importance for framework of nation-building that would uphold Islam’s significance and promote Syariah law. However, he warned against using these principles as means to diminish or disrespect the cultural practices of others.
Balancing Principles with Respect
In his speech, he urged the people to uphold values and also respect diversity as it is essential for the nation’s essence. He urged the people to feel the true essence of Aidilfitri and see it as an opportunity for spiritual renewal and reconciliation. He emphasized that Ramadan is the time to foster introspection and shed detrimental habits, and urged the people to embrace these values even after the festive season.
Prudence in Pursuit of Progress
He highlighted the importance of prudence in governance and asked people to cultivate patience, wisdom and meticulous planning in achieving national objectives. He warned against hasty decisions and urged the government to learn from past leaders to navigate through challenges effectively.
