Ahmad Faizal Azumu today urged the people of Malaysia is follow the decree by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia. In his decree, the King has asked everyone to maintain closer ties and strengthen unity. Azumu emphasized the importance and asked all to respect and uphold it. He underlined the importance of political leaders issuing statements responsibly, considering that the sensitivities of Malaysia’s multi-racial community must be respected.
His statement:
At a Hari Raya gathering of Maharajo descendants in Kampung Kepayang, Ahmad Faizal stressed on Islam’s principles of tolerance, and that it respects other religions by allowing them to practise whichever religion they want.
In a statement, Azumu said, ““We don’t insult your religion and God, and the others must do the same when it comes to the beliefs of Islam. Everyone must understand this, and I believe this way Malaysia is able to return to living in a harmonious community where we respect each other.”
Over shoe controversy:
Talking about the recent socks and “Allah” shoe controversy, the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president said that he did not see the Arabic word “Allah” written on the sole of the shoes.
