Earlier in April, iKON’s agency, 143 Entertainment, announced that Bobby would join the military on May 21. This news caused a ton of feelings among fans and IKONICS as they prepared for Bobby’s temporary time off from music. Nonetheless, the organization later refreshed the fans, sharing that Bobby’s selection date had been moved from May 21 to June 4.
Bobby was chosen for full-time reserve service rather than active duty in view of his family circumstances. Bobby got married in 2021 and has a young son. South Korean military guidelines consider individual conditions, and those with children, similar to Bobby, can qualify for full-time reserve service.
