Let’s take a minute to consider the inspirational path of SEVENTEEN’s multi-talented member, Jun, as we celebrate his 28th birthday. Jun, who juggles his twin personas as a well-known Chinese actor and a K-pop idol, never fails to enthral audiences everywhere with his extraordinary talent, commitment, and charisma.

Jun’s Initial Days of Acting

Wen Junhui, also referred to as Jun, is a current K-pop star who personifies the perfect blend of skill, charisma, and devotion. Born in Shenzhen, China, on June 10, 1996, Jun’s ascent to fame started early.

He entered the acting field because of his natural talent for performance, and he became well-known for his parts in movies like The Pye Dog and The Legend Is Born: Ip Man.

Change to Music with SEVENTEEN

Jun entered the music industry with ease and became well-known as a member of SEVENTEEN, a K-pop boy band known for their energetic live shows and catchy songs. Jun, who is a member of the group’s performing team subunit, has wowed audiences all over the world with her dancing skills and voice.

Apart from his involvement with SEVENTEEN, Jun has demonstrated his artistic flexibility by releasing solo songs in his mother tongue, such as the melancholic “Limbo” and the thrilling “Psycho.”

Through his musical pursuits, he has received recognition and awards, such as the esteemed Tencent Music Entertainment Award for New Singer-Songwriter of the Year.

From Child Actor to Rising Superstar

A fascinating story of ability, determination, and enthusiasm, Jun’s path in the entertainment industry spans from his early days in the spotlight to his current status as a versatile artist.

In 1998, he secured his first commercial gig at the tender age of two. Jun’s innate charisma and strong presence were apparent even at a young age, setting the stage for a successful career.

Jun’s abilities only became better as he got older, and he went on to star in a number of TV shows, such as the well-liked Flying Dragon – The Special Unit, where he debuted as an actor at the age of five.

But Jun had much higher goals in mind than just performing. He bravely accepted the challenge of playing his first movie role in 2007’s The Pye Dog, which brought him praise from critics and accolades, including the esteemed Silver Award for Best New Performer from the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild.

Coming to South Korea

However, Jun’s adventure was only beginning. Driven by a never-ending desire for achievement, he took the transformative decision to relocate to South Korea in October 2012 in order to train under PLEDIS Entertainment. Though risky at the time, the decision would turn out to be revolutionary.

During his training, he demonstrated an unshakeable dedication and a relentless work ethic that prepared him for his May 26, 2015, debut as a member of SEVENTEEN, performing as Jun. Three days later, Jun’s career as a K-pop idol began with the release of the group’s debut EP, 17 Carat.

Getting Success with SEVENTEEN

Jun has continuously shown off his singing and dancing abilities during his time with SEVENTEEN, which has helped the group achieve incredible success both locally and abroad.

His contributions to SEVENTEEN TV and SEVENTEEN Project: Big Debut Plan, among other venues, cemented his standing as a vital component of the group’s prestigious Performance Team subunit.

Solo Projects and Ongoing Development

However, Jun’s love of music goes beyond his involvement with SEVENTEEN. He took advantage of the chance to play solo on the Chinese music reality show Chao Yin Zhan Ji in 2018, enthralling fans with his engaging performances.

A major turning point in his solo career was reached in December 2018 with the publication of his first solo song and special single album, Can You Sit By My Side, which brought him even more praise and fame.

From that point on, Jun has kept pursuing his career as a solo artist, releasing more songs that demonstrate his skill and range. His rising fame and influence as a solo artist is evidenced by the fact that his track “Crow” debuted at number 14 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales list.

Later albums, such as “Limbo” and “Psycho,” have strengthened Jun’s standing as a rising star in the music industry.

Going Back to Acting and New Achievements

In 2023, in addition to his musical endeavours, Jun triumphantly returned to the stage as the lead in the drama Exclusive Fairytale. In addition to confirming his acting prowess, his outstanding performance won him the esteemed Rising Star of the Year Award at the 2023 Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards.

We celebrate Jun’s past accomplishments as well as his limitless future potential and his 28th birthday. Jun’s extraordinary skill, relentless passion, and unbreakable spirit are demonstrated by his path from a child actor to a worldwide K-pop star and acclaimed actor. Jun, happy birthday!
