SINGAPORE: A man, 22 years old, was arrested for allegedly being involved in a case of loanshark harassment, where flower pots and a shoe rack were placed outside a residential unit at Bedok South Road.
According to the sources, flower pots and a shoe rack, were blocking the entrance of the residential unit. Additionally, the shoes on the rack were also upside down. The police said they were informed about the case on 5th June, around 5:20 pm.
Through ground inquiries and with the help of police camera images, officers from Bedok Police Division identified the man’s identity of the man and arrested him on the same day. Also, one mobile phone was seized as evidence in the case.
Additionally, a 14-year-old teenager was arrested for his suspected role in a case of loanshark harassment involving fire on 5th June.
The police said, they were notified about the incident at Yishun Avenue 6, where a fire was set outside a residential unit. Loanshark-related graffiti was found scribbled on a wall at the staircase landing near the unit.
Through further investigations and with the help of images from police cameras, the teenager was arrested from his home within three hours of the incident by the officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Woodlands Police Division after Police Operations Command Centre confirmed the man’s identity.
On 7th June, Both suspects will face legal charges in court under the Moneylenders Act 2008.
