SHAH ALAM: Weather News- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in seven states. The agency announced that this warning affects the entire state of Perlis, Penang, and the Kerian district in Perak.
Additionally, it covers areas in Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu); Negeri Sembilan (Port Dickson); Johor (Muar and Kota Tinggi), and Sarawak (Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri).
“Warnings are issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20 millimeters per hour that are imminent or expected to occur for more than an hour. Thunderstorm warnings are short-term warnings valid for a period not exceeding six hours per issuance,” the agency stated via a Facebook post on Monday.
