Amid hot weather, the Terengganu State Education Department (JPNT) has issued a reminder to all schools within the state to comply with the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) guidelines. According to the directives, all outdoor activities are to be suspended until further notice, aiming to mitigate risks such as heat strokes. This comes in response to social media speculation, with parents alleging that some schools are planning to organise cross-village activities this week.
Emphasis on Student Welfare:
“JPNT consistently prioritises the welfare, health, and safety of students, particularly in the prevailing hot weather conditions,” JPNT director, Jelani Ngah said in a statement. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the welfare, health, and safety of students. He highlighted the necessity of adhering to clear directives issued by the District Education Offices to suspend all outdoor activities, aiming to mitigate risks such as heat strokes.
Adherence to Guidelines:
Jelani reiterated the consistent reminders given to district education officers to ensure strict adherence to the ministry’s guidelines. These guidelines dictate appropriate actions and measures to minimize heat-related complications in the event of any outdoor activities.
Temperature Threshold:
According to the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) guidelines, any outdoor activities are prohibited if the temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.
