Raya holiday traffic: Traffic is expected to surge following toll exemption

As the city people started returning to their respective hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, there was a surge in traffic. The drivers are advised to be more careful and expect delays on the main road following toll exemption on all highways. 

Update so far:

A spokesperson from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), updated that as of 8 am, the number of vehicles remains manageable, and traffic flow on several major highways is reported to be smooth.

LLM spokesperson’s statement:

In a statement to Bernama, the spokesperson said, “Traffic flow on the East Coast Expressway 1 and East Coast Expressway 2 is reported to be smooth so far. However, traffic is moving a little slower before the Genting Sempah tunnel on the KL-Karak Expressway.”
