KUALA LUMPUR – Maybank is again experiencing a service outage for its mobile app, angering users as they cannot pay online or in physical outlets.
The message appears when trying to access the application: “We’re experiencing communication error. Please try again later.”
Furthermore, some of the users are even seeing a blank page with no account information, while the desktop version of Maybank2u was buffering after login attempts.
The Maybank team is currently working to resolve the issue, Scoop reported.
Maybank’s Mobile App Outage: Users Vent Frustration On Social Media
Several users expressed their anger on social media over the disruption at Maybank because they did not have enough money as an alternative to pay.
“When I want to make payments, (that) is when (Maybank) decides to cause an issue. There is only one bar left for my petrol,” said X user @livinikon.
“I only have a few ringgit (left), and I need to top up my Touch n’ Go to ride the MRT,” said another user @aleeeyaaa_.
Some even sarcastically commented that such disruptions were the new normal.
“Maybank is making down maintenance like a routine now,” user @asyeedhamdan quipped.
“‘She uses a big car, but (her) card has no balance’, Hey auntie, this is all Maybank’s fault, not my car’s,” user @fiqratuladha said, expressing frustration at a comment she received.
Maybank’s mobile app has recently experienced several system outages, including one less than a week before the Aidilfitri celebrations.
Furthermore, recently users were unable to access Maybank’s Tabung feature, making them worry about their money.
Meanwhile, Maybank posted an alert via its X handle that unavailable services include its MAE app, Maybank2u and Maybank2u Biz features for both web and app, and debit card transactions.
