This comes after Anwar recently engaged in a phone call with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Positive Dialogue with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Anwar revealed that last night, he received a phone call from his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz Sharif. In a Facebook post, Anwar stated that “During the phone conversation, we both wanted to explore opportunities to strengthen Malaysia-Pakistan ties, especially in the field of trade and investment. Praying that relations between Malaysia and Pakistan will continue to grow for mutual benefit, Insya-Allah.”
Mutual Growth and Cooperation
Anwar further expressed optimism for both the country’s future. He welcomes Shehbaz’s proposal to export halal meat from Pakistan to Malaysia, highlighting potential economic opportunities.
Discussion on Regional Issues
Anwar revealed that the two also discussed pertinent regional and international issues, including the situations in Gaza and Afghanistan. While, Pakistani PM Shehbaz also appreciated Malaysia for its stance on the Palestinian matter.
