Malaysia will rise to voice its firm position on Israeli violence in Gaza and international tensions in West Asia at the two-day World Economics Forum (WEF) Special Meeting held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting from today, said Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Countries with previously differing views will now join Malaysia in condemning Israel’s atrocities against the Palestinian people, this statement is by Mohamad.
“Malaysia has always supported the Palestinian people whenever they are going through any struggle and we need to see them given equivalent privileges, establish as a free nation, and accepted as a full member of the United Nations,” he told reporters during his visit to the Malaysian Embassy in Riyadh today.
He is gonna address the tensions in West Asia during his meeting with counterparts at the WEH and plan to prevent them from growing into a regional crisis. ai
His words: “I hope that those with interests in the region will surely collaborate to make things easier and resolve these tensions, preventing them from the rapid growth into crisis in West Asia.”
The personal invitation from the Crown Price and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to give a speech at the meeting with other leaders, Mohammed bin Salman described its recognition from the Saudi government to Malaysia.

He and Investment Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Tenkgku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, also participated in different sessions and held meetings with the industry leaders during the special meeting he mentioned. “ I am confident this will give us a platform to offer investors and multinational companies, who are not willing to invest in Malaysia yet, the closest information into Malaysia’s special position in Southeast Asia.”
“ Many countries are applying de-risking and decoupling policies, learning from the Russia-Ukraine conflict. As a result, they no longer wish to depend on any single country.”
He also mentioned that these efforts were ideal as Malaysia situated itself as a “middle state” and was seen as a country with a planned position in Southeast Asia, crossing over towards East Asia and other regions.
