Google’s global head of government affairs and public policy Karan Bhatia has urged Malaysian businesses to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) upskilling programmes. He emphasized that by embracing advanced generative AI solutions, Malaysian businesses can position themselves as leaders in technology and drive economic growth.
Unlocking Economic Potential
Bhatia, who is working with leading businesses to adopt the latest technology stressed that by investing in AI upskilling programs, Malaysian businesses can stimulate economic growth. He differentiated between generative AI and other forms of AI by highlighting the unique user-friendly nature of generative AI, which facilitates problem-solving in various aspects of people’s lives, both personal and professional.
Versatile Applications of Generative AI
Bhatia further stressed that generative AI allows users to interact in everyday language with chatbots or virtual agents. One can even get it to perform tasks like answering questions, generating content, creating images, and summarizing documents.
Boosting Productivity and Innovation
“Even better, a single generative AI platform can deliver solutions for multiple use cases, creating a network effect. As the number of users and applications increases, the model is exposed to more data and becomes increasingly accurate and useful which in turn, encourages more users and, in a way, AI has the full potential to boost productivity and innovation in both the public and private sectors,” he said. Karan envisions AI as a catalyst for positive change, driving efficiency and creativity in various domains.
