Gombak: Food Poisoning Horror! Two Deaths Linked to School Meals

GOMBAK: The two deaths due to food poisoning are linked to the meals from a school in Gombak, according to police.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said in a statement that the first case involved the death of a 17-year-old boy after his mother brought food from the school on June 8, while the second case is of a two-year-old.

“After eating the food, the victim and both his parents experienced diarrhoea. On June 10, the victim fell unconscious. He was pronounced dead by medical officers at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL),” he said.

Speaking on the second case involving the child, he said: “Her father, who works as a security guard at the school, brought food back on the same day (June 8) and gave it to the child.”

“On June 10, the victim’s mother observed that she had developed a fever, was vomiting, and was also suffering from diarrhoea. The little girl was pronounced dead while receiving treatment from medical officers at Hospital Selayang,” he added.

Both bodies were handed over to the Forensic Department of Selayang Hospital for further investigation. The police classified the case as a sudden death and reported the incidents to the Ministry of Health.
