MALAYSIA: The suspected Malaysian woman, aged 71, is accused of attacking her OKU daughter with a machete, at Felda Kerteh in Dungun, Terengganu on June 10th (Monday), resulting in severe injuries to the victim. An elderly woman has suffered from depression ever since losing her husband last April and went deep-end this time.
Superintendent Maizura Abdul Kadir, police chief of Dungun district, found in his preliminary investigations that the suspect was initially lying in the living room when suddenly, she got up and proceeded to attack her daughter, who has disabilities, while she was sleeping in her room.
According to the investigation, the victim’s brother heard her painful screams and snatched the machete away from the suspect (depressed mother) when he saw his sister covered in blood and instantly reported the incident to police.
“The 46-year-old victim sustained injuries to her neck and chest, requiring five stitches,” he added.
The investigations by the police chief revealed that the elderly woman not only experienced depression since her husband’s passing last April but also often hallucinated.
