Despite Iran and Israel conflict, Tabung Haji continues to make preparations for the upcoming 2024 Hajj season despite the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, as confirmed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar. On Sunday, Iran launched a wave of missiles and attack drones against Israel overnight further escalating tensions in the region which had already been on for over last seven months due to the cruelty of the Zionist regime of Israel against innocent Palestinian civilians. however, according to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, the 2024 Hajj season will go as planned. 

Commitment to Pilgrim Safety

Minister Mohd Na’im stressed on joint collaboration between the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, as well as the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia. he said that these ministries will ensure the safety and well-being of Malaysian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. 

Monitoring the Situation

In light of recent events, Minister Mohd Na’im stated “The Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) is monitoring the current situation in the Middle East following the retaliatory attacks by Iran against Israel yesterday.” The retaliatory attacks by Iran against Israel have heightened tensions in the region. Emphasizing the importance of accuracy and authenticity, Minister Mohd Na’im has urged all parties to remain calm and to trust only authoritative sources for information.
