NewJeans Announced as New Face of Korean Tourism for 2024

The well-known K-pop group NewJeans was formally announced as the 2024 Honorary Ambassadors for Korea Tourism on July 4, 2024. 

The five-person team will work with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in this exciting new role to increase foreign travel to South Korea.

NewJeans New Role 

Anushka Sen, an Indian actress, will relinquish her esteemed position as Honorary Ambassador of NewJeans in 2023. 

The group’s choice of members reflects their increasing stature and influence, which makes them perfect ambassadors for elevating Korea to the status of a must-visit country. 

Actor Lee Jae Wook, online influencer Lizzie Yeo, and the well-known girl group Brave Girls were among the ambassadors in the past.

Recent Achievements 

Lately, NewJeans has been extremely successful, hitting significant career highs. They just created history during their inaugural fan meeting concert, Bunnies Camp, by being the only K-pop girl group to pack the Tokyo Dome to the third floor. 

They are only the third K-pop group, after SEVENTEEN and SHINee, to accomplish this achievement. In addition, about a year and a half after their debut, NewJeans became the fastest non-Japanese act to perform at the Tokyo Dome.

NewJeans is poised to further establish their stature as significant players in the K-pop sector as well as international tourism with their new position as Honorary Ambassadors for Korean Tourism.
