Jennie Becomes  1st Female K-pop Soloist to Go Platinum in the US!

As the first South Korean female soloist to accomplish so with a single, BLACKPINK’s Jennie achieved another milestone with her track One of the Girls featuring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp receiving a platinum certification. The idol has previously demonstrated her ability and star power with a number of accomplishments and number-one hits. This album further establishes her as a major international K-pop star.

“One of the Girls” Receives Platinum Certificate 

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified The Weeknd, Jennie, and Lily-Rose Depp’s song “One of the Girls” Platinum on June 20th in recognition of sales that surpassed one million copies. Jennie becomes the first female soloist from South Korea to have a single certified platinum as a consequence. Reza Fahim, Sam Levinson, and The Weekend devised the television series The Idol, in which one of the Girls makes an appearance. Jennie also made her acting debut in the drama series.

More About Jennie 

Jennie declared the opening of her label ODD ATELIER on December 24, 2023. All of BLACKPINK’s members extended their agreements with YG Entertainment for group activities last year. In order to oversee her personal endeavors, Jennie opened her label and shared her profile pictures.

Slow Motion, a song by Jennie and Matt Champion, was released on March 8. Jennie’s first release in 2024 is titled Slow Motion. Additionally, this is her first album since starting OOD ATELIER. The song SPOT, which Jennie and Zico collaborated on, was made available in April. The song rose to popularity fast and is now on multiple charts. 

Blackpink’s Jennie is a rapper and vocalist. Her varied talent and captivating theatrical presence are well-known. Along with pursuing a prosperous solo career, the idol has emerged as one of the most well-known personalities in the international K-pop scene.
