K-Drama Fever Hits Malaysia: Discover the Top 10 Shows to Binge in May

This May have brought you great historical, fantasies, romantic, mysteries and action k-dramas that you are going to love. 

So, basically May is going to be a super exciting month for all the k-dramas watchers. Here’s the list of Top 10 K-dramas that are going to air in May which you need to know.  

1.Frankly Speaking

Go Kyung-pyo, Kang Han-na and Joo Jong-hyuk starrer drama Frankly Speaking which is directed by Jang Ji Yeon. Frankly Speaking is released on 1 May 2024. The story line follows Song Ki Baek who is a 33 years old bachelor and works as an announcer in a TV show. 

His life takes a turn when he meets an accident which causes him a disease to speak without thinking first. Later he faced crises in his life because of his harsh language.

Meanwhile On Woo Joo is an energetic show writer who got attracted with Song Ki Baek’s language and tries to get him on TV shows. 

2. The Atypical Family

Jang Ki-Yong and Chun Woo-Hee starrer drama The Atypical Family is directed by Jo Hyun-Tak. The drama is going to be released on 4 May 2024. The story line follows Bok Gwi-Joo and his family who were brought into the world with extraordinary super powers. 

He is able to travel into the past. He can’t change the past, so he simply continues to contemplate those great times. 

Unfortunately he gets miserable and loses his power. His family additionally loses their powers in light of current issues like not resting soundly, dietary problems, and being too into cell phones. Then, Do Da-Hae meets them by some coincidence and starts living with them. 

3. The Midnight Romance in Hagwon

Ahn Pak Seok directed Drama starring Jung Ryeo Won and popular actor Wi Ha-joon who is going to play the character of Lee Jun Ho. The release date of the drama is set to 11 May 2024. 

The story of the drama is about  Lee Jun Ho who quit his job in a big company and went back to a university as an instructor for her first love Seo Hye Jin who was teaching there for a long time. 

4. Dare to Love Me

Webtoon based drama Dare to Love Me starring K-pop idol Kim Myung-Soo and actress Lee Yoo-Young. The drama is scheduled to release on 13 May 2024. 

Dare to Love Me tells the decent love story between Kim Hong-Do who works as a contract worker for the design team and Shin Yoon-Bok who is a scholar and lives in a village. 

Shin Yoon-Bok has a dream of becoming a writer and to attain that he runs away from his village. 

5. Crash

Park Joon-Woo directed drama Crash starring the great cast of Lee Min-Ki, Kwak Sun-Youn,  Heo Sung-Tae, Lee Ho-Cheol,  Moon-Hee and  Baek Hyun-Jin is all set to release on 13 May 2024. 

The story revolves around a TCI member(Traffic Crime Investigation). The TCI has talented members in it like Cha Yeon-Ho who has the special ability to stimulate the accident by using his sharp mind.

Min So-Hee who has great martial arts and driving skills. Min So-Hee holds a secret about sticking with TCI.

6. Uncle Samsik

Shin Yeon Shick directed drama Uncle Samsik is starring Song Kang Ho, Byun Yo-han, Lee Kyu Hyung and Jin Ki Joo. The drama is set to release on 14 May 2024. 

It’s around two boys in 1960s South Korea. They stay together through difficult stretches and challenges in their nation’s set of experiences. 

One person, Uncle Samsik, never misses a feast, in any event, during war. The other, Kim San, fantasises about making a superior life for everybody in their country.

7. The 8 Show

Han Jae-Rim directed drama based on webcomic “Money Game” starring great cast of Ryu Jun-Yeol, Chun Woo-Hee, Park Jeong-Min, Lee Yeol-Eum, Park Hae-Joon, Lee Joo-Young, Moon Jeong-Hee and Bae Sung-Woo. The drama will be released on 17 May 2024. 

The drama revolves around 8 people who are in need of money, so they appear on reality show Money Game. If they able to stay there for 100 days, they can divide the prize money of 44.8 Billion won. 

8. Bitter Sweet Hell

Bitter Sweet Hell starring Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hye Young, Kim Nam Hee and Lee Da Bin is set to air on 24 May 2024. 

The story revolves around the Korea’s the best counseller and her mother in law facing each other’s secret and truth because of their husband and son. 

9. Connection

Connection is set to release on 24 May 2024 with the cast of Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-Do under the supervision of director Kim Moon-Kyo.

The story line is about an undeniably exhilarating crime tale about companions who uncover stowed away mysteries while examining the demise of their secondary school mate, who abandoned a tremendous protection payout.

 10. Dreaming of Cinde Fxxing Rella

Pyo Ye Jin and Lee Jun Young starrer upcoming drama  Dreaming of Cinde Fxxing Rella is going to release soon. 

Lee Jun-young plays Moon Cha-min, a rich and egotistical person who peers down on ladies longing for fantasies.

Pyo Ye-jin is Shin Jae-rin, a young lady longing for finding her Mr. Perfect. She begins working at Cha-min’s club to pursue her fantasies. See how their story unfurls in the new series coming to TVING in May.
