JYP Entertainment revealed in November 2023 that ITZY member Lia would be taking a leave of absence because of health concerns. When Lia’s break started in September, it became clear that she was struggling with anxiety.
Fans were worried by this news because Lia would be missing ITZY’s globe tour and preparations for their comeback. But JYP Entertainment just released a statement on Lia’s health and next plans.
Initial Announcement and Break
In November 2023, JYP Entertainment initially responded to Lia’s health issues. They said Lia had been exhibiting signs of worry and tension.
Lia was given an anxiety disorder diagnosis following a consultation with a specialist physician. She was told to concentrate on her treatment and get some rest.
Lia’s health prevented her from working on the new record for ITZY or participating in the group’s January 2024 world tour.
As a modest gesture of gratitude, JYP Entertainment released the lyric video for Lia’s solo song “Blossom” to help fans through this difficult time.
Lia’s Public Appearance
Lia made her first appearance in public following her break in February 2024 at ITZY’s Born to Be tour event in Seoul.
Fans found it endearing to see her cheerful and in attendance, even though she was merely there to encourage her audience mates.
ITZY’s fan base, MIDZY, expressed worry about Lia’s absence from promotions and goods during her leave. Fans couldn’t wait to see the ensemble perform live again.

Lia’s comeback to ITZY was formally confirmed by JYP Entertainment today via the FANS app and other social media accounts.
They revealed that Lia’s health has considerably improved as a result of her therapy and relaxation. With ITZY, she will get back to work on their upcoming album, which is expected to drop in the second half of the year.
However, ITZY will continue as a four-member group (Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna) for already arranged engagements and shoots prior to the album release.
Thanking the fans for their support, JYP Entertainment assured them that the group will continue to support Lia and the others on their path.
