KAJANG: Commissioner Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has said that the home of Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee, the Selangor footballer, was targeted by burglars when there was no one at home.
Initial investigation suggests that the suspects monitored other houses before breaking into the footballer’s home in Shah Alam on May 22, the Selangor police chief said.
“His house was not targeted because he was a Selangor football player. We believe the suspects chose the victim’s home as the empty home presented a lower risk for them,” he told reporters after launching the “Taman Angkat Amanita” programme on Saturday (June 8).
CCTV footage revealed that two men were involved in the burglary, he said.
“The vehicle used by the suspect had fake number plates. However, we are in the midst of tracking down the suspects,” he said.
The police are investigating the burglary at the footballer’s home.
Khuzaimi Piee, 31, had filed a police complaint alleging that his house was broken into at about 11.30pm on Wednesday (May 22).
As per the initial police investigation, the burglar is suspected to have reached the house in a white MPV and later stole the footballer’s motorcycle along with passports and designer bags.
