2024 Suzuki GSX-S1000GX: Engine Specs
The GSX-S1000GX borrows the engine from the GSX-S1000GT sports tourer and features Suzuki’s popular 999cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline four-cylinder engine. The GSX-S1000GX, which complies with Euro 5 regulations, develops 152PS of maximum power and 106Nm of peak torque, figures comparable to the 165PS and 114Nm of the BMW S1000XR.
The six-speed gearbox features an up-and-down quickshifter, slipper clutch and chain final drive to the rear wheel. The wheel size of the GSX-S1000GX is designed for roads, with 17-inch wheels equipped with 120/70 and 190/50 rubber at the front and rear.
2024 Suzuki GSX-S1000GX: What’s New?
The semi-active electronic suspension called Suzuki Advanced Electronic Suspension (SAES) is new to the GSX-S1000GX. It offers four electronically controlled damping modes: “H” (Hard), “M” (Medium), “S” (Soft) and a customizable “U” (User) setting. This means that the damping force automatically adapts in the blink of an eye to the riding conditions depending on the selected mode.
The Suzuki Adaptive Road Stabilization (SRAS) is another new addition, which seamlessly switches between settings to emphasize responsiveness when riding on normal road surfaces and settings that smooth out bumps when riding on uneven terrains, activating the Suzuki Floating Ride Control (SFRC).
The fuel tank capacity of the GSX-S1000GX is 19-liters, which Suzuki says is equivalent to 6.21 liters per 100 km. Seat height is 845mm, while the GSX-S1000GX tips the scales at 232kg, compared to 226kg for the S1000XR.
