PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang criticised the Democratic Action Party (DAP) during his first campaign appearance in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.
Speaking at a Perikatan Nasional event in Batang Kali, he warned Selangor’s Umno members and supporters against losing political control, drawing parallels with historical political shifts in Singapore.
Hadi described DAP as an Extremist group aiming to gain political power, which Hadi believes could disrupt national stability.
He reflected on past discussions made about Malaysia’s formation, emphasising the constitutional recognition of islam as national religion. While also ensuring religious freedom for others.
Abdul Hadi pointed out the constitutionally guaranteed rights of bumiputera and Malay language, as well as the political rights of other races.
Abdul Hadi accused DAP, which originated from Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP), of trying clearly to obtain political power, Malaysia’s racial and religious foundation. Hadi recalled how Malaysia and Singapore have lost their political influence over time, blaming DAP could cause a similar outcome in Malaysia
Hadi highlight that racial distinction are created and should not be eliminated, criticising DAP’s approach towards a race-blind “Malaysian Malaysia”
He also claimed that DAP seeks to equate Islam with other religions, challenging the special position of Islam in Malaysia.
He concluded by urging Malay and Muslim voters to be wary of DAP’s agenda, labelling the party as chauvinistic and urging Umno supporters to prevent DAP from winning the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat again.
