Samsung Electronics on Tuesday launched its latest Neo QLED 8K TV lineup which boasts artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features. The new TVs have the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor and come with features like 8K AI Upscaling Pro, which upscales low-resolution content, and AI Motion Enhancer Pro, which enhances the clarity of fast-moving objects on screen, for example, a ball during a sporting event.
According to Samsung, the new TVs can detect the sports type as well as the ball being used via deep learning to make visual enhancements.
This AI integration also provides audio-related improvements using Active Voice Amplifier Pro, which boosts voices and dialogue.
Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV: What’s New?
The company claims that the screens are 20% brighter compared to the last generation displays, while the refresh rate is up to 144Hz.
The Neo QLED 8K models run on Tizen OS and the feature list includes an educational hub, cloud gaming, and smart yoga, which can be used by connecting the TV to an AI-powered mat.
Samsung Malaysia Electronics president Denny Kim said that the brand has invested in AI research for more than a decade.
“Our 2024 screen lineup comes with on-device AI and intelligent integration across devices, allowing you to upscale your experience. To complement these exceptional AI viewing experiences, our latest sound devices also offer industry-first sound technologies to complement the stunning TV visuals,” he said.
The Neo QLED and Neo OLED ranges were also part of the launch.
Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV: Price in Malaysia
The Neo 8K QN800D is offered in two screen sizes: 75in (RM24,999) and 85in (RM32,999)The top-end Neo 8K QN900D with the 75in model costs RM30,999, while the 85in model is priced at RM46,999.
The brand is offering Touch n’ Go eWallet credits up to RM2,900 and the chance to win prizes worth RM140,000 with each purchase.
