A video showing a new convert in Papua New Guinea accidentally bringing a pig as a sacrifice for Hari Raya Aidiladha has gone viral on the internet.

This was because he did not fully understand the rules of the Islamic faith and the law of sacrifice. He believed that any animal was allowed as a sacrifice, but only goats, cows and camels, not pigs.

His act was unintentional, so the locals and Uztaz of the town were surprised when the pig arrived in front of the mosque.

“Sacrifice for Hajj includes a pig, alhamdullilah the meat is very fresh”, the videographer said in a shocked tone.

The cameraman then asked Uztaz if he would accept the animal. In response, the Uztaz and the locals laughed it off.

The video explained that the man was a new convert and was not well-informed about the practices of Islam. Netizens who saw the video immediately praised his efforts and noted that we simply need more guidance.
