WWII Relic Unearthed At Ang Mo Kio Construction Site; Police And SAF Called In

SINGAPORE: The historic World War II relic was safely removed from a construction site in Ang Mo Kio on June 28th. According to the reports, the police were alerted about the war relic discovery along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 towards Marymount Road during excavation works around 5.45 pm yesterday.

The Police said, “The Singapore Police Force worked with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, and the item was established to be a World War II unexploded ordnance.”

WWII Relic was moved away for disposal after determining that the item or situation was safe to handle, police added.

They informed, “No danger was posed to the public.”

SAF Safely Disposes Of Largest WWII Relic

A WWII bomb was discovered at a construction site on Upper Bukit Timah Road last September, prompting the evacuation of thousands of residents in the area.

The 100kg war relic, believed to be one of the largest wartime munitions found in Singapore, was later safely destroyed by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit days after it was discovered.
