Singapore News: Singaporeans are urged to proudly display the national flag from July 1st to September 30th all across the country to commemorate the nation’s 59th anniversary.
According to the Reports, The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) announced relaxed rules ahead of the National Day celebration period, allowing more flexibility in displaying the national flag on June 27th (Thursday).
All organisations and households are permitted to display the Singapore flag at offices, building premises, and residential premises for three months. Additionally, flags may be flown without a flagpole and night illumination during this period.
Guidelines For Displaying the National Flag
The standard guidelines for using the Singapore national flag specify that it should be flown from a flagpole positioned in front of a building when displayed outdoors.
Also, It should not be flown at night without proper illumination.
MCCY reminded citizens to treat the national flag with respect and dignity when displaying it.
The advisory cautioned against displaying torn or worn-out flags, which should be respectfully disposed of in a sealed black trash bag.

The Ministry also emphasised the national flag’s significance as Singapore’s foremost symbol of statehood, unity, and resilience. It should be handled with reverence and displayed in a manner that reflects its importance and dignity.
