PM Anwar meets Hamas leaders in Qatar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Khalid Mashal in Qatar.

During the meeting, the prime minister highlighted Malaysia’s commitment towards playing a role at the international level to stop the attack on Rafah.

“Malaysia is stepping up its efforts to aid Gaza war victims, especially via humanitarian, medical, and educational assistance,” he said.

Pm Anwar also offered his condolences for the loss of Ismail Haniyeh’s family members in Israeli bombings.

“Malaysia appreciates Hamas’ readiness to release hostages particularly children and women, and its willingness to accept the peace plan proposed by the Arab world, the OIC, and the international community,” he said.

The prime minister urged Israel to stop the violence against Palestinians, agree to the peace plan and release all detainees.
