In a tragic accident, three foreign nationals were killed and one injured on the North-South Expressway at KM306.1 when a burst tyre led to a fatal collision between a car and a lorry. According to Kampar police, eight Bangladeshi nationals were travelling in the multi-purpose vehicle, including the three who died at the scene, when they experienced a tyre burst. 

Incident Details

According to Kampar police chief Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud, the incident occurred at 1:49 PM yesterday. Following the tyre burst, the driver lost control of the multi-purpose vehicle, carrying eight Bangladeshi nationals. the car veered off the road and collided with the guardrail.

Casualties

According to the initial investigation, three passengers tragically lost their lives, while one suffered injuries. The driver and three other passengers remained unharmed. 

Sequence of Events

According to Kampar police chief Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud, the car was travelling from Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur when the tyre burst occurred, leading to the loss of control. “A lorry travelling in the same direction could not stop in time and hit the car from behind,” he said.
