Another suspect arrested over petrol bomb attack on entertainment outlet

Police have arrested another person as part of the investigation into a suspected petrol bomb attack at an entertainment centre in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, bringing the total number of suspects in the case to five.

Five individuals, aged between 25 to 28 years old, have been arrested so far in connection with the case, Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said.

“The remand for four men involved will end tomorrow and will be extended on the same day.”

“The arrest of another individual, a 28-year-old man, was made yesterday and the remand is for four days starting from today until Thursday.”

“The motive behind this incident is still under investigation,” he said in a statement.

Petrol bomb attack on entertainment outlet

On May 9, an entertainment outlet on Jalan Yap Kwan Seng was allegedly hit with Molotov cocktails after which it caught fire.

A 45-second CCTV recording of the incident went viral on social media and it showed how four men on two motorcycles stopped near the premises, threw Molotov cocktails and fled the scene.

Another 42-second viral video showed the premises on fire with many people helping to extinguish the fire.

Based on the time and date seen on the recording, the incident took place at 2:18am on May 9.
