Jung Young Joo Talks Byeon Woo Seok’s Feelings for Kim Hye Yoon

Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon

Due to their intense chemistry on set, Jung Young Joo of Lovely Runner mentioned during a recent appearance on MBC’s Radio Star that a lot of people have been asking her if Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon are dating.

She also revealed behind-the-scenes information about how Byeon Woo Seok sought her acting counsel and acknowledged doubting his ability to truly appreciate Kim Hye Yoon due to the sincerity of their roles.

Jung Young Jo’s Revelation

Jung Young Joo was asked by Jang Do Yeon to discuss her year-long experience of seeing the Solsun couple—Im Sol and Ryu Sun Jae, portrayed by Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok—both on and off screen.

She said that due to her commitment to playing Im Sol’s mother, she still feels very much a part of the K-drama and finds it hard to look forward to her next assignment. Young Joo also disclosed that viewers of the program ask her a lot of questions concerning Kim Hye Yoon, Byeon Woo Seok, and their personas.

Byeon Woo Seok’s expressive eyes, which are especially well-suited for tragic roles, are what Young Joo revealed to be the source of his attractiveness. She told him she had asked him, “Have you ever been in a relationship?” and he responded, agitated, “I have dated!” in a charming but a little awkward way.

Even for someone who has personally experienced intense emotions, accurately expressing them on screen might be difficult, as Young Joo claims. But Byeon Woo Seok shone in this area as well, giving performances that touched viewers to the core and winning him a devoted following and a ton of love.

She praised his purity and honesty, pointing out that he is so real that he is unable to lie and that his own feelings are always apparent. She believes he has every quality—purity, authenticity, and all—necessary for superb acting.

Jang Do Yeon noted that there was still a lot of attention and excitement even after the drama was over. After the Lovely Runner conclusion, Jung Young Joo said that Byeon Woo Seok had stated in an interview that his ideal type is a little, petite, intellectual, and smart woman—qualities that Young Joo found endearing in Kim Hye Yoon.

She consequently couldn’t help but joke, “You guys should just date,” anytime she watched Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon acting together.

In response to a question regarding identifying genuine feelings between the two celebrities, Jung Young Joo revealed that Byeon Woo Seok felt self-conscious since he had to mimic Sun Jae’s amorous gaze in romantic moments with Solie (Kim Hye Yoon).

He went up to Young Joo and asked, “Should I look at her with those melo’ eyes as myself?” in an attempt to get guidance. She reassured him, asking why he was worried. Just be true like her, and everything will work out.“

“Can I really like her?” Byeon Woo Seok questioned in answer. His eyes told a thousand words, and he may really like her, Young Joo noticed.

But after seeing Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok perform live, she observed that they had such a natural chemistry that they no longer needed guidance. Their natural emotional flow produced on-screen representations that were true to life.
